On September 5, 2007, the first edition of B.A.D. Idea News was emailed out in PDF format to 28 subscribers. It was four pages long and contained no advertisements. Now, in 2011, we not only serve people in Johnson County and the surrounding area, but also subscribers as far away as New York, Washington State, and Florida. In addition, we have a strong presence on the Internet.
People have asked why I picked the name B.A.D. Idea News for the publication. Well, I’m Barbara A. Dunn (initials B.A.D.) and I had an idea …
B.A.D. Idea News has been a home-based business, and I am the Editor/Publisher.
Kitty Hegemann is the webmaster for the online version of the paper.
Until last year, the print version, Boone Trail Gazette, was published monthly and distributed on the last Thursday of the month. When times are better, we hope to return to the print publication.
And now it’s 2012, and there are changes. Beginning October 31, the name of the paper was changed to The Mountain Sentinel. You can expect the same great content and news stories relevant to you.
